CICA - Modeling Compound CASTILENE - 2.5 lbs

Castilene is a sulfur-free modeling compound, lightweight (40% lighter than Plastelina).
It is self supporting without armature.
It is compatible with silicones and other rubbers.

It is offered in 3 hardenesses

Hard - for sharp details and can be used as armatures 

To begin with Castilene :
Easily soften with a variety of heat sources. Avoid heating above 170°F or air bubbles may result. Castilene can be melted and poured at about  170°F.
Important :
Do not use a direct flame.

The strenght and light weight of Castilene allows sculpting without a wire armature in many case.

Working with Castilene :
All three hardness are compatible with one another. All generic wax tools and wax carving methods are compatible with it. Heat tools before carving.

Finishing Methods :
Use wax compatible products including :
Goo Gone, De-Solv-It, d-Limonene and Prepsol based products. Mineral oil, Turpinoid and petroleum products will lubricate the surface. Castilene does not inhibit silicone or other rubbers. It can be burned out for lost wax castings.
